Air Mattress
An air mattress is an inflatable sleeping pad that is made from plastic or rubber. It is commonly used for outdoor trips such as for camping, and temporary bedding at home for guests. Depending on the brand or style, you can opt for a mattress that has pillows included. These models are perfect to use when going to a camping, as you will not need to carry an extra pillow. This helps you cut down the number of items you need to bring when going out. You can also get one with a built-in air pump which can be controlled by a remote control. Some models are inflated using a separate portable compressor.
Air mattresses are manufactured with different sizes and styles. Mostly, the first issue you tend to look at when buying is the size of the bed. This depends on the personal usage or kind of visitors that you routinely having. For instance, if you always have two to three guests at home, you will certainly look for a bed which can accommodate at least three people. For this, you may want to purchase a larger king-size bed. But if you only have one to two guests at a time, the full or queen-size will be the one necessary. If you will use it for outdoor trips, you may probably want to have an air mattress which has smaller size like a twin-size bed for easy transport.
If the height of the bed is the issue, then you can also choose according to what you prefer. There are standard air mattresses that can sit for about six to ten inches off to the ground, and there are also double air mattresses which sit as high as twenty inches off to the ground when they are fully inflated.
You can inflate and deflate the air mattress using a compressor. Using a separate compressor sometimes take a long time to inflate or deflate the bed. But beds with built-in pump can be easily inflated and deflated with a touch of a button. However, these beds tend to be more costly, but if you will consider the price of the separate pumps, you will notice that the cost will just evens itself out. Deflated beds can be rolled up or folded for easy storing when not in use, or carrying when going out for trips.
Just remember that when you use an airbed, avoid your pets from climbing on top as their sharp claws can tear and damage your bed. When using the bed in camping, don’t place it over an area that contains rocks and sticks. Find the safest ground you think you can put down the mattress. If your airbed has a tear, apply a patch to the torn area, or else the bed will not be usable anymore.
